David Scott

David Scott compiles and verifies minimum wage rates, tipped wages, and overtime rules from official state and federal labor department sources, and re-checks every page when rates change.

What I do here

I keep the numbers on Minimum Wage Lookup accurate. That means pulling each rate from a primary, official source, the U.S. Department of Labor tables and the individual state labor departments, checking the effective date, and re-verifying every page when rates change. Most updates land on January 1, with a second round on July 1 for the states that adjust mid-year.

How I work

Every location page links its official source so you never have to take my word for it. Each page also shows the date it was last verified. If a number ever looks off, I want to hear about it. You can reach me at [email protected], and rate corrections get checked against the official source and fixed quickly.

For the full sourcing and correction process, see the methodology page.

A note on scope

This site is a plain-English reference, not legal advice. For a specific situation, check with your state labor department or a qualified attorney.
